Project Overview
Due to a signed Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA), I am only able to provide an overview of my process. For further details regarding this case study, please feel free to request a presentation. For the privacy the project, I will be referring to it as Beetle.
As the sole designer of Beetle, my primary goal was to elevate the overall user experience. I dedicated my efforts to developing innovative features while enhancing existing ones. Additionally, I prioritized the accessibility of both web and mobile apps and made sure the user experience is intuitive for its users.

During my time at Google, I typically used the double diamond design process across my projects. My approach was firmly rooted in data-driven insights and a user-centric design thinking methodology, ensuring that every solution was tailored to meet the needs of the end user. I have worked closely with UX researchers, engineers, product managers, and fellow designers to align on the overall product vision. This teamwork has been crucial in successfully reaching our objectives.
Developed a comprehensive component library for Beetle and its sister mobile app, fostering scalable, reusable, and consistent design elements across platforms.
Led UX workshops on advanced prototyping in Figma, empowering cross-functional teams with innovative design techniques and collaboration strategies.
Partnered with UX researchers and conducted in-depth user interviews to identify pain points and needs, resulting in more intuitive and optimizing user experiences within Beetle.
Created numerous prototypes and solutions that significantly improved key task flows, reducing completion time and enhancing overall efficiency.
Constructed the back-end architecture for Beetle, showing communication with different systems and request processing.
Collaborated with engineering to test usability and functionality of UI enhancements, driving seamless integration and improved user satisfaction.

Proactively seeking feedback from cross-functional partners
In my previous design experiences, I didn't collaborate with engineers as much until the implementation stage of the design process. Since the Beetle team consisted of mostly engineers, I shared my wireframes with them early in the design process to make sure they thought it was technically feasible. We were able to iterate early on, which saved us time in the end. This greatly improved my process in not only collaborating more often, but also aligning expectations with cross-functional partners that impact the project timeline.
My hand in UX research
One of my biggest projects at Google was building a research case study on Beetle users. I partnered with a fellow UX researcher who taught me best practices and methods in conducting interviews and using quantitative insights in creating a hypothesis. By focusing on key metrics, we were able to evaluate our findings and make informed decisions about project prioritization. This experience deepened my understanding of the entire end-to-end UX process, and I have consistently applied these best practices in my work since then.
Sharing knowledge and teaching others
As a Figma enthusiast, I pride myself on my expertise with this powerful tool. At Google, I led a UX workshop centered on advanced prototyping in Figma, where I guided the design team in pseudocoding their prototypes and wireframes. I thrive on exploring Figma's latest features and love applying them into my projects. Additionally, I've supported fellow designers in enhancing their prototyping skills, utilizing variables and conditionals for more dynamic interactions.
